You may also find yourself being required to sign up first on their members list before you can purchase any of the discount goods. This may take some time as you fill out the requirements. However, once you start looking around at the equipment and discount golf clubs, you will realize that good price is worth all the effort.

2. Off-Season Timing

Discount golf clubs are also available in most sports shops during off-season. Buying off-season can get you good discounts, as much as 50 percent off. Shops also conduct sales for all their merchandise. All you need to do is to know the right timing so that your trip to the shop will be fruitful.

Thus, the material is still from the branded manufacturer. You can get a good discount from these kinds of golf clubs.

5. Internet Retailers

If you want to expand your options further in finding the right discount golf club, then you can explore internet retailers online. Online retailers tend to give a good selection for discount golf clubs. You can also explore the auction sites. Internet bidding sites are very popular nowadays. If you will just take your time to surf through the site, you can find a discount golf club and purchase it a considerable mark down.

There is also some sort of a flea market section in the bidding sites. This is another venue for you to find discounted items. Just be sure to read on ahead for the models displayed on the web site. Golf Equipment - Why an Engineer Created PING Golf Clubs

Golf Equipment - Why an Engineer Created PING Golf Clubs

Golf Clubs

How did the PING line of Golf Clubs come to being? Mr. Karsten Solheim, was a mechanical engineer working at General Electric. He was working predominantly in the aerospace and computer industries. He was also an amateur golfer who was not satisfied with his putting skills. So, he designed his own putter.

Today, the PING Golf Corporation makes a full line of premier golf clubs and a host other golf improvement products. PING continues to operate as a family owned company. Their products are sold worldwide in over 70 countries. Today, golf professionals frequently use PING golf clubs in tournament play.

Where did the name come from? The name PING comes from the pinging tones that you can hear when the PING golf club hits the golf ball. PING putters helped to dramatically alter the golf putter market with their heel-to-toe weighting design. Sports Illustrated magazine called the PING 1A putter, the musical putter from the sweet sound that it emitted.

After creating a new putter, in 1961 Solheim designed and built his first set of irons. He called the irons 69. He felt that a score of 69 was a good round of golf. He made further modifications to the heel-toe weightings. A cavity was placed in the back portion of the irons to help improve shots.

In 1966, the USGA decided that nearly all of the PING putters were disallowed from tournament play. The only PING putter that would still be allowed for tournament play was the recently design Anser putter. The Anser would revolutionize the putter in golf. It had a cavity back and low center of gravity. It offered a superior feeling for golfers of all abilities. It set the mark for what is now considered the conventional putter. PING clubs have over 500 professional tournament victories to their name. The PING Anser putter has more tournament wins than any other.

Left Handed Golf Club Sets - How to Buy Left Hand Golf Sets

Left Handed Golf Club Sets - How to Buy Left Hand Golf Sets

Golf Clubs

Being born with the left hand as your master hand can both be a blessing and a curse. You can get around most things, such as left handed desks, and writing with your left had. When it comes to lefty golf sets, it becomes a pain being a lefty.

It's a good thing then that left hand club sets are not very hard to find, and it may not even cost the same as a normal set. It is important to take your time shopping for the right left handed golf club set that fits your needs.

Most major golf companies like, Callaway, Mizuno and Nike actually make right handed and left hand golf clubs. But due to the small demand for sets to manufacture left handed club sets, there are not many of them in the market.

Callaway, Mizuno, Ping and Nike actually make both right and left-hand golf sets. Demand for the left-handed versions is less, due to the number of left handed players being less in the professional golf market.

Does it cost more to a lefty?

Even though the demand for left hand golf set is less, it is no more expensive than the normal right handed clubs. As a matter of fact left handed golf club sets costs pretty much the same as right handed ones.

Custom Made Left hand Golf Sets

Just like normal golf sets, lefty golf clubs can be custom made and designed for the individual. All you need is the golfers, gender, height and weight, together with distance from the golfer's wrist to the floor. Speed of swing, age, handicap, plus what club is being used on the 150 yard mark to make the changes.

Custom made golf clubs are more expensive than over the counter lefty golf sets, but it can be worth the money, time and effort when fitting. Usually the appropriate golf club set can improve a golfer's game and his enjoyment of it.

Many players enthusiastically buy new clubs sets, including those left handers to find that the game requires concentration and skills that they don't have. If you're thinking that some of the golf dreamers are left handed then your definitely right. This allows you to find bargains gathering dust in the back of garages.

So watch out for garage sales, because if they won't sell those dust gathering golf sets then their wives probably will. And the greatest part is that they will probably sell those left handed gold club sets for a fraction of the original price just to get them out of the way. A bonus for you and a win for space from the previous owner!

Modern Golf Clubs & Their Effect on Your Game

Modern Golf Clubs & Their Effect on Your Game

Golf Clubs

The latest and greatest golf clubs are supposed to make it easier than ever to improve your game, they're designed to help you be more consistent, cater for you to make a wider range of mistakes than ever before and they are more lightweight with sweet spots that seem to grow every year. No longer do you have to put up clubs like they did in the past which were much less forgiving meaning that you either hit a great shot or a very poor one.

With all this technology about it seems like it should be easy to rely on it to quickly improve your game, but how often has a new club really made a big impression on your game? Let's face it, relying on new clubs to be the only thing you change in order to see improvements in your game is really a false hope. If you approach your golf development with this attitude you are likely to be disappointed more often than not and you'll find yourself a lot poorer too.

It's very important to remember that when it comes to improving your golf game there is much more to consider than just what clubs you are playing with. Sure, having a set of clubs that suits your game is a good place to start but at the end of the day if you aren't fit enough to swing the club correctly for the entire round you're unlikely to shoot the type of score you are aiming for.

The repeated demands that swinging a golf club put onto your core muscles means that you need to take the time to build up your strength and flexibility in this area. If you don't you'll find that in order to swing a golf club your body will make small adjustments to overcome your shortcomings leading to a swing that is neither accurate nor consistent.

By simply taking the time to do some regular exercise that targets these core muscles you will find that you'll see a big improvement in your performance regardless of the clubs that you are using. Any improvement in your stamina will allow you to retain your form throughout the course of your round avoiding the fatigue and drop in performance many people suffer on the final holes of the day, and let's be honest that's probably where you drop most of your shots isn't it?

Add a little bit of exercise into your golf training program and combined with the right clubs for you, whether they are the latest set or a comfortable set you've had for a while, you're going to start to play the best golf of your life.

Hybrid Golf Clubs Review

Hybrid Golf Clubs Review

Golf Clubs

Hybrid golf clubs have definitely taken over the average (and not-so-average) golfer's bag and they have definitely changed the way people play this sport.

A hybrid golf club is a combination of both long iron and fairway woods. Typically, a long iron has a smaller club face than a hybrid club, which sometimes becomes a problem especially for amateurs who often make bad hits and causes their ball trajectory to "slice", which is why the makers of hybrid clubs made sure that they made a club with slightly wider "sweetspot" than a long iron. This in turn, makes golf hybrids much more forgiving than the irons. Fairway woods, on the other hand have convex faces like the hybrids, although hybrids are less cumbersome.

A hybrid club is usually shorter than the long iron and usually made of hollow steel or Titanium. Contrary to general belief, these types of clubs are not that expensive at all, considering their performance and game-shifting dynamics that could make you the hero in the golf course. Manufacturers these days choose to make hybrid golf clubs from locally-found materials in order to lower market prices.

Hybrids are great to use in difficult lies and in treacherous parts of the course. It can cut through glass and sand without compromising the potential ball trajectory it could offer. On a good swing and stroke, a hybrid could add up around 180 to 200 yards to your game.

Once upon a time, when golf hybrids were first released, they were treated as jokes or perhaps a nuisance in the sporting goods stores, that is because manufacturers before, were not able to produce good hybrids. In other words, their goal to make a cross between long irons and fairway woods failed. But with a lot of study and re-modification, manufacturers were able to produce hybrid models that earned its present title of being "iron replacements". Usually, golfers use hybrids instead of 3-, 4- and 5- irons, as a golf hybrid is easier to hit than these iron types.

And with the modern technology of today, you not only can buy standard hybrid clubs off the shelves, but can also do custom-fitting for them, to ensure that your hybrids are well-suited for you. A golfer's best buddy is his golf club, as they say. And to make sure you get that cup, you must choose the right buddy to drag along with you in the golf course.

Discount Golf Clubs - Brand Name Clubs At An Affordable Price

Discount Golf Clubs - Brand Name Clubs At An Affordable Price

Golf Clubs

Every person is happy when they hear the word discount. Discount means that the object they are buying is not going to cost full price, so they in turn get a price that saves them money. Discount golf clubs can be very important to a golfer. Some golf club sets can cost a few hundred dollars, and with the right discount in place a person can save a great deal of money.

So how can a person find discounts? Well, there are a number of ways to get discounts. One place you may look, is in your local paper for coupons that will give you discounts on golf clubs. This method however can be limited on your location and the possibility that you have no sports stores and such. Another popular way is to look for online coupons codes and promotions for golf clubs that the retailer might have. Some coupons might be "Get 20% off on all Callaway golf clubs this week", and others could be "Buy a Wilson Driver and get a complimentary Putter". Using search engines to find discounts has become quite popular also. You can type in a phrase and a list of matches will come up. Try "reduced price golf clubs" in yahoo search and you will notice 576,000 matches. Out of 576 thousand matches you are bound to find at least 1 discount offer that will make you smile. Usually, the higher the price the larger the discount. A store will not often sell a set of clubs that is already cheap, at a cheaper price. The most common way to find discounts is probably the "walk-in". This refers to when you got to a store to buy some golf clubs and then suddenly you notice a discount sign. The discount sign then reinforces your confidence to buy the set. This, however, may sometimes be a clever trick.

It is true that there are many different types of discounts, but many of them can be fake. A fake discount is a discount that really does not save you money, but creates the illusion of it. Some are familiar with this technique, while others have no idea it exists. This is usually not done among large retailers as it would be bad for business, because they are so widely known. A smaller golf store will sometimes put up a discount sign, along with stickers on all the objects just to make them seem like they are offering a good deal. For example, "Wilson Drivers marked down from .99 to .99", although they have always been .99. This will create the illusion that if the customer doesn't get it now it may not be available at that price again. This is also done online, but in a more sneaky manner. An online retailer may offer a great price on a set of clubs that seems dramatically reduced in price, but they can make that up in the shipping price. As we all know, shipping price varies from place to place and the weight of the package. Most customer are not certified postal workers (UPS, Fed-Ex, etc.), so they will have no clue if they are being ripped of on the price or not. Of course there are signs of this, but the websites, that know what they are doing, will not be easy to spot.

So instead of going out and buying the first discounted set of golf clubs you see, take some time with your purchase. Ask the cashier questions and find out everything you can, they probably aren't fond of questioning, but that's their job. A number of websites will tell you where to get good deals, on the golf club set you are going to buy, so don't hesitate to use the World Wide Web, its there to help.

How To Drive A Golf Ball Farther More Consistently

How To Drive A Golf Ball Farther More Consistently

Golf Clubs

The driver can be without a doubt the most difficult club in the bag to hit. The reason for this is because it is longer and even the slightest swing flaw can put the wrong kind of spin on the ball resulting in either a slice or a hook. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when learning how to hit this club.

Tip 1: Maintain balance

Balance is critical in the golf swing because a balanced golf swing is usually much more accurate and on plane than an unbalanced one. One of the keys to staying balanced is to swing within yourself. You need to know your limits and then swing with control. Remember that it is not necessary to swing hard in order to hit the golf ball far.

Distance comes from making good contact and also from launching the ball at the correct launch angle and putting the right kind of spin on the ball. The formula for hitting a monster drive in the fairway can be rather complex but it is not impossible to accomplish.

Tip 2: Use proper equipment

The driver you choose should be based on your current swing speed. If your club head speed is under 100 mph then you need to choose a driver that has a regular flex and has loft greater than 10 degrees. If your club head speed is over 100 mph then a club with a stiff flex and loft lower than 9 degrees would be appropriate.

Tip 3: Build your wrist muscles

The wrist muscles play a vital role in swinging a golf club. Many tour players that look really skinny still have very powerful wrist muscles. This helps them to control the club and generate great club head speed. One way to build wrist muscles is to do wrist curls. Simply take some dumbbells and hold them to your side while standing and then move your wrists up and then down slowly. Make sure you feel your wrist muscles working and do not get other muscles involved in lifting the weights.

Tip 4: Practice

I hate to say this but there is no magic cure to hitting drives far and straight overnight, at least none that I have come across yet. The fact is that you will have to put the time and commitment necessary to learn the golf swing. This does not mean that you have to beat 500 golf balls a day. Rather hitting even a small bucket with focus and purpose on every shot can be effective done 3 to 5 times a week.

Focus on quality rather than quantity during your practice sessions. We all lead busy lives and most of us simply cannot commit massive amounts of time and energy to just golf so make sure you practice smart rather than hard.

Tip 5: Use leverage more effectively

There are a lot of tour pros that hit the golf ball a mile but they look really thin. Usually we would think that it is the big muscular guys that hit the ball far however in golf, leverage is the ticket to hitting the ball farther. Leverage is the angle created between the left hand and the club shaft on the downswing just before impact. You want this angle to be as small as possible so that the stored energy is released at the last moment and is transferred to the ball.

One way to create more leverage effortlessly is to think of the club as a whip and feel yourself whipping the golf club through the hitting zone. Also try to avoid getting your right hand involved in the down swing if you are a right handed player since this tends to result in casting the club or releasing the leverage angle too early, instead feel yourself pulling the club with your left hand through the downswing. Use some of these golf driving tips to help you hit the golf ball farther and straighter.

The Correct Grip Size for Your Golf Clubs

The Correct Grip Size for Your Golf Clubs

Golf Clubs

A question that is always asked is "What is the correct grip size?" The simple answer is none. Although this answer runs contrary to what is promulgated throughout the entire golf industry it is a fact. Let me explain:

Since Lucy walked the earth five million years ago the evolutionary process has revolved around the ability of the human hand to adapt. It has been argued that the evolutionary development of the human brain is a direct result of the evolutionary increases in the adaptability of the hand (you might say that they go hand in hand - pun intended). From playing the piano to performing delicate heart surgery, and yes, to holding a golf club, the human hand can adapt to virtually any shape or size object.

What is most interesting is that, with the exception of extreme cases, hand size does not matter. For instance, there are over 550,000 physicians and surgeons in the USA and I am sure that every hand size is accounted for in that large group. However, if you look in a medical supply catalog you will find that there are no options for the handle size on a scalpel. By the same token chopsticks, piano keys, violin frets, quilting needles, and so on, all come in one size. Consequently, using the logic espoused by the golfing fraternity the surgical ability of our nation's physicians has to be negatively affected, the Chinese cannot eat efficiently, think of how much better Beethoven could have been, Yo-Yo Ma needs a new cello, and aunt Martha's quilts are defective. The fact is that your hand, regardless of size, can adapt efficiently to any size object and certainly to any size golf grip.

Over the years we have conducted blind testing involving hundreds of golfers with hand sizes ranging from small to large and virtually every participant preferred a larger, less tapered grip and the tackier the better. This really was not surprising considering that out of all sports where an object is held in the hand a golf club has, by far, the smallest diameter handle. Even the handle on a ping-pong paddle has a larger diameter than the grip on a golf club.

Our testing has shown that a 1/8" oversize grip provides the "meat" under the right hand (right-hand golfer) that allows for a much improved transfer of power and degree of control when swinging a golf club, and this size appealed to all of our test subjects regardless of hand size.

A couple of the many myths concerning golf grips:

Too large of a grip will hinder your ability to release your wrists fully through impact. A non-tapered grip is necessary if you use a ten-finger grip.
